Overview
We are seeking an experienced finance and accounting professional to join our team in Bangalore as Finance Manager for our Indian subsidiary. The ideal candidate will have broad experience across finance and accounting disciplines and will be responsible for the day-to-day activities across financial accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax compliance, working capital management, and financial planning and analysis. This is an opportunity to collaborate with the global CFO to design, implement, and execute the requisite finance and accounting processes and procedures as the first full-time finance hire in Bangalore.
Responsibilities
Daily processing of finance and accounting transactions, including customer invoicing, cash receipts, vendor invoice processing, vendor invoice payments, and other financial accounting transactions as appropriate
Month-end financial close activities, including account reconciliation, consolidation, financial statement preparation, and financial reporting
Maintenance of intercompany relationships, including preparation of intercompany journal entries and documentation as appropriate
Ongoing statutory compliance support, including preparation of all requisite tax filings, statutory financial statement filings, and related matters
Management of annual financial statement audits, liaising directly with our external auditors to ensure timely issuance of audit reports
Support the administration of payroll and benefits, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of monthly payroll and related documentation and filings
Support the implementation of a new financial accounting system, the implementation and integration of other related systems, and the design and implementation of processes and procedures around financial systems
Support financial planning and analysis activities in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, including budget preparation, forecast preparation, decision-support, and other ad hoc financial analyses as required to support the business
Qualifications and Requirements
6 to 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting
Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance
Chartered Accountant designation is mandatory
Public accounting firm experience, including tax, audit, or both, is highly desirable
Previous experience working in a dynamic start-up environment is preferred
Prior FinTech experience is desirable
Proficiency with various accounting platforms and related professional applications (e.g. O365)
Highly effective communication skills
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to make decisions and drive outcomes, even with imperfect information
