Now, we are looking for a Senior Safety Engineer in our office Mechelen, Belgium.
As a Senior engineer you will be working in safety engineering projects, related to : Risk analyses, safety studies and reports, site visits, meeting reports, specific studies. Therefore, we are looking for a customer-oriented candidate, with the ability to anticipate and define customer/project needs.
What is the role About?
As a safety engineer:
• You will be working on safety engineering projects.
• You develop risk analyses, safety studies and reports, site visits, meeting reports, specific studies:
o Fire Safety prevention and protection – legal conformity with Belgian legislation (RD fire prevention, …)
o ATEX
o HAZOP
o SIL
o Machine Safety certification – especially complex machines
o Environmental Safety
o Seveso: LOPA, SIL,…
o PED
Requirements
  • Safety-oriented certificate (master in safety & environmental management or similar) or proven relevant experience.
  • 10 years experience in Safety related tasks.
  • Experience and/or Knowledge in HSE legislation (Health, Safety and Environment) in Belgium and especially applicable to industrial projects. You are competent in at least some of the safety engineering skills as mentioned above.
  • Willingness to learn
  • Fluent in English and Dutch. French is an asset.
  • Microsoft Office – in-depth knowledge, with an emphasis on Excel skills
  • Technical competences: 
  • ATEX
  • Building Related Safety 
  • PRocess Related Safety 
  • Machine Safety Certification 
  • Environmental Safety (BE)

Requirements
Degree or certification of Safety Prevention Counselor level 2 or 1 required soon certificated is also accepted). Fluency in Dutch and French/English is mandatory. Ability to speak another European language is an advantage. Microsoft Office: in-depth knowledge, with an emphasis on Excel skills. Knowledge of AproPlan or LetsBuild is a + Experience in project design and/or realization is not a must but a plus.
