General Manager Quality

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven professional to lead our Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) department within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in implementing stringent quality standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and managing complex construction projects from start to completion. A deep understanding of RERA regulations is essential. This role requires a strong leader who excels in risk management, process optimization, and root cause analysis to consistently deliver construction projects that meet the highest quality standards and exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Oversee the QAQC department for multiple large-scale construction projects, ensuring all activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
2) Develop and implement comprehensive QAQC plans, procedures, and protocols, leading to a reduction in defect rates.
3) Lead and mentor a team of QAQC inspectors and engineers, enhancing their skills and performance.
3) Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential quality issues and implement corrective actions.
4) Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues and optimize construction processes.
5) Prepare detailed QAQC reports and documentation for senior management and clients, ensuring transparency and accountability.
6) Implement root cause analysis for non-conformance issues, leading to significant improvements in process efficiency and product quality.
7) Review and approve GFC (Good for Construction) drawings and provide design input.
8) Validate sampling and mock-ups to ensure quality standards.
9) Prequalify and evaluate contractors for project suitability.
10) Establish and optimize concrete mix designs to meet project specifications.
11) Review and approve Bill of Quantities (BOQ) specifications.
Core Competencies:

a) Expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining QAQC plans, procedures, and standards specific to the construction industry.
b) Proficient in conducting thorough inspections, audits, and tests to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
2) Regulatory Compliance:
a) Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ISO, ASTM, OSHA).
b) Ability to ensure all construction activities adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
3) Construction Management:
a) Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
b) Experience in managing various types of construction projects, ensuring quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
4) Risk Management:
a) Proficient in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with construction projects.
b) Ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
5) Process Improvement:
a) Expertise in identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements to enhance quality and reduce waste.
b) Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
6) Root Cause Analysis:
a) Ability to perform detailed root cause analysis to identify underlying issues leading to quality defects.
b) Proficient in developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions to address root causes.
7) Technical Reporting:
a) Strong skills in preparing detailed QAQC reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
b) Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
8) Team Leadership & Mentorship:
a) Proven ability to lead and manage QAQC teams, including inspectors and engineers.
b) Skills in training, mentoring, and developing team members to enhance their performance and career growth.
9) Project Coordination:
a) Experience in coordinating QAQC activities with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
b) Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion of QAQC tasks.
10) Data Analysis & Interpretation:
a) Proficient in analysing quality data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.
b) Ability to use statistical tools and software for quality analysis.
11) Client Relations:
a) Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
b) Ability to address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with quality standards.
12) Continuous Improvement:
a) Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
b) Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality management processes.
13) Ethical Judgment & Integrity:
a) Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and integrity in all QAQC activities.
b) Ability to make fair and impartial decisions, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
14) Knowledge of RERA:
a) Deep understanding of RERA regulations, including the standardization of carpet areas and buyers' rights in case of defects.
b) Quality check and warranty post-possession as per RERA guidelines.
c) Preparation of Reports:
i) MIS
ii) Budget
iii) Analysis
iv) Cost efficiency
d) Suggestions and recommendations, if any, related to the project.
e) Improvements for future projects.
Qualifications:
- Education : BE Civil / B.Tech Civil
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint
