Job Title: State Coordinator Fundraising (Maharashtra and Telangana)

Position Overview:

The State Coordinator Fundraising will support local Civil Society Organization (CSO) partners in Maharashtra and Telangana working on HIV issues. The primary focus of this role is to enhance fundraising efforts through institutional fundraising from international and national donors, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, individual fundraising campaigns, and crowdfunding. The incumbent will be responsible for developing high-quality proposals, pitch deck and crafting compelling stories to attract funding. Additionally, the State Coordinator will mentor CSOs in donor research, donor mapping, donor profiling, and creating an effective donor funnel with an engagement ladder, communication, and outreach strategies to improve funding outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fundraising Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies for CSO partners focusing on institutional, individual, and CSR fundraising.
  • Design and launch innovative fundraising campaigns for individual giving and crowdfunding efforts.

2. Proposal Development:

  • Create high-quality proposals and impactful stories that resonate with potential donors.
  • Ensure proposals align with donor requirements and highlight the critical work being done by CSO partners on HIV issues.

3. Donor Engagement and Management:

  • Conduct donor research to identify potential funding opportunities from international, national donors, and CSR initiatives.
  • Perform donor mapping and profiling to understand donor priorities and align fundraising strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and manage a donor funnel with an engagement ladder to maintain and enhance donor relationships.

4. Mentorship and Capacity Building:

  • Mentor and support CSO partners in Maharashtra and Telangana in developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies.
  • Provide training and guidance on donor research, mapping, profiling, communication, and outreach to improve overall fundraising capacity.

5. Communication and Outreach: 

  • Develop compelling communication materials and outreach strategies to engage potential donors.
  • Utilize various platforms and channels to promote fundraising campaigns and success stories.

6. Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor fundraising activities and track progress towards targets.
  • Prepare regular reports on fundraising efforts, donor engagements, and financial outcomes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in fundraising, particularly in the non-profit sector, with a focus on institutional and individual fundraising.
  • Proven track record of developing successful fundraising campaigns and high-quality proposals.
  • Strong understanding of the HIV sector and related funding landscape.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and writing skills.
  • Ability to mentor and build capacity in local CSOs.
  • Strong research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in using fundraising and donor management software.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to the mission of supporting HIV initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Language proficiency in Marathi and Telugu (for Maharashtra and Telangana positions respectively).


 Location:

The state coordinators will be based in their respective state capitals of Maharashtra and Telangana, i.e for Maharashtra in Mumbai and for Telangana in Hyderabad with travel as required to support CSO partners in both states.
