Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our core product team. You will architect and develop scalable backend systems that power our digital collectibles and gifting ecosystem. You’ll work closely with frontend, mobile, and product teams to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences. This role is ideal for someone who loves Python, Django, GraphQL, and solving complex backend challenges at scale. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain backend APIs and services using Python (Django). Develop and optimize GraphQL APIs, integrating with Apollo clients across platforms. Build scalable data models and perform schema/query optimization in PostgreSQL. Manage service deployment and containerization using Docker. Implement background tasks and asynchronous workflows using Celery. Collaborate closely with frontend (React) and mobile (Flutter) teams. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with strong attention to performance. Contribute to architectural decisions and help drive technical strategy. Required Experience & Skills 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack engineering. Strong expertise in Python with deep knowledge of the Django framework. Hands-on experience building and consuming GraphQL APIs (Apollo is a plus). Proficiency with PostgreSQL — schema design, query tuning, data modeling. Solid understanding of Docker and containerized application development. Working knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript and ability to collaborate effectively with React teams. Experience with Celery for background jobs and async workflows. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices. Nice to Have Exposure to Flutter and Firebase Crashlytics. Experience with Poetry for Python dependency management. Prior experience in high-growth startups or digital consumer products. Soft Skills Passion for building consumer-facing applications. Strong problem-solving mindset and ownership mentality. Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
