EN-SR-10: Train Performance Manager (TPM)PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe Train Performance ManagerEnsures train performance fulfils customer and regulatory requirements, in compliance with project QCD objectives.Functionally reports to the Chief of Development (CoD)Is the main focal point to the customer for train performance topicsIs accountable of the source requirements synthesis (RBS), the train level performance requirements development through system architecture and of their allocation to sub-systems.Supports System Engineers and Sub-Systems Engineers and ensures that Sub-Systems’ design is converging toward specified targets.Is accountable for Train Reliability, for Train Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), for Cybersecurity, for Validation and Engineering contribution to Certification & Authorization.ORGANISATIONOrganisation structure (job belongs to..)Train system

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance Measurement/KPI’sCompliance to requirements during validationSpecifications qualityOn time delivery

Accountabilities/ResponsibilitiesActs as main technical focal point for the customer for train performance topicsEnsures conversion of customer and regulatory requirements into train level requirements & specifications (including Service requirements)

Collects and analyzes customer needs and requirementsPerforms operation analysisDevelops a consistent set of train level requirements & specifications, complying with Alstom standardsLeads functional analysis, specification, and architecture in collaboration with Sub-systems Groups, esp. C&IS

Derives requirements & specifications at Sub-system level (including Services requirements)

Electrical & Functional interfaces (as complementary to Mechanical interface = Train Architecture)Allocates requirements and specifications (including transverse requirements) to Sub-systemEnsure consistency and compatibility between all Sub-system specificationsReview and confirm Sub-system architecture and support Chief of Development for technical arbitration and technical risk mitigation planSupports Sub-system Engineers and Managers and verifies along project life cycle convergence toward requirements and specifications compliance

Ensures Reliability activities and report on the reliability risk managementEnsures Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) activitiesIn case of maintenance option, ensures that TCO is being optimizedEnsures Train verification and validation

Defines and performs all verification activities relevant for the projectDefines, organizes, and executes Train level validation, using Trainlab when relevant.

Contributes to certification and Authorization in delivering requested deliverables (test report, train level documentation, …) and support Certification & Authorization manager on technical topicsDuring train revenue service leads technical open issues resolution in line with project strategy, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure,

Mandatory:Master of engineering equivalent from educational degree, completed with experience preferred in Electrical & electronicesPreferred:Extensive knowledge of products, projects, systems, Metier process and company background (More than 5 years in Railways engineering)Competencies & SkillsBusiness English fluentCustomer orientedStrong skills on technical managementAbility to switch between problem perspective to solution perspective,Ability to lead a project teamAbility to challenge and to be challengedAbility to foster communications between multiple stakeholders/metiersAbility for analysis, problem-solving and efficient decision-making in complex environmentReadiness to travel
