Legal Officer/Assistant Manager – Legal
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Regulatory Affairs professional to support regulatory submissions and product registrations, we are looking for a skilled Legal Officer to handle all legal matters of the company. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documentation, providing legal advice, and representing the company in legal and contractual matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, NDAs, vendor/service agreements, and MoUs.
- Prepare and respond to legal notices, demand letters, and replies.
- Provide legal advice to management on company matters, disputes, and risk mitigation.
- Assist in board resolutions, director appointments, and company-related filings.
- Liaise with external counsels for litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
- Keep the company updated on changes in laws, regulations, and their impact.
- Advise on employee legal matters, HR policies, contracts, and disciplinary proceedings.
- Handle employee exit and grievance-related legal documentation.
- Ensure timely compliance with labour laws, Shops & Establishments Act, POSH, PF, ESIC, gratuity, and other statutory requirements.
- Maintain company records and support corporate secretarial work as per Companies Act.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in law (LL.B.) is mandatory; LL.M. preferred.
- 1–4 years of experience in corporate legal roles or law firms.
- Strong knowledge of Contract Act, Companies Act, Arbitration Act, and commercial laws.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple legal matters simultaneously. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Attributes:
- Strong legal drafting and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Good understanding of corporate and commercial laws (Contract Act, Companies Act, Arbitration, Labour basics).
- Ability to interpret laws/regulations and apply them to business situations.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for legal documentation and negotiation.
- High standards of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Willingness to coordinate with external lawyers and regulatory authorities when required.
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple legal matters.
