Title:

Product Safety Manager, Metals

Introduction: 

We are looking for a Product Safety Manager who will be responsible for verifying the implementation of Metso’s product safety management procedures during various phases of our business activities. You will be acting as an independent function to the executing teams, which involves auditing of the business activities, consulting and collecting of required documentation. Your role plays a crucial part in complying with rules and regulations, which will contribute to impact delivering safe products to our customers worldwide.

Main Responsibilities:

Verify implementation of PSM procedures during proposal phase and product development. Verify and assess implementation of PSM procedures during project execution. Consult project teams regarding product liability issues. Support and facilitate internal risk assessments (e.g. Machinery Risk Assessments, HAZID etc.) Escalate critical issues with probable solutions. Maintain PSM Management system and provide training to stakeholders. Take ownership of the assigned tasks and projects and drive them proactively. Well versed with relevant standards, rules and regulations and adherence to those provisions. Work closely with all internal and external stakeholders in business line, product group, sales, delivery and service.

To succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering Minimum 10 years of working experience in similar function. Holding individual certification (not mandatory) in functional safety acc. IEC 61508 / IEC 61511, machinery safety acc. ISO 12100 and ISO 19011. Knowledge of Safexpert or similar software, HAZARD analysis, Functional Safety and HAZOP
Experienced to work in an QEHS environment (implementation of procedures, auditing) Moderating between experts in difficult conflict situations An ability to work as part of a team, while also working independently on certain tasks. Good skills in MS Office tools and having technical and business mindset.
