Key Responsibilities:

Network Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of the network infrastructure to meet organizational needs.
  • Manage network upgrades, expansions, and optimizations to support business growth and technological advancements.


Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of network engineers and administrators, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Allocate resources and manage team workloads to ensure efficient operation and timely completion of projects.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous learning and professional development.


Network Design and Architecture:

  • Develop and implement network architecture strategies and solutions that align with organizational goals and technical requirements.
  • Design and deploy network solutions that integrate with existing infrastructure and support new technologies and business applications.
  • Collaborate with IT architects and other stakeholders to ensure network designs are robust, scalable, and secure.


Network Security:

  • Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other threats.
  • Monitor network security and conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Respond to and resolve security incidents, working closely with cybersecurity teams to address and mitigate risks.


Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor network performance using various tools and technologies to ensure optimal operation and identify potential issues.
  • Analyze network traffic and performance metrics to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and other issues.
  • Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies to enhance network efficiency and reliability.

Incident and Problem Management:

  • Oversee the management of network incidents and service requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Develop and manage incident response procedures and escalation processes for network-related issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring network problems.


Vendor and Partner Management:

  • Manage relationships with network equipment vendors, service providers, and other third-party partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing with vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality services.
  • Coordinate with vendors on the procurement, installation, and support of network hardware and services.


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure all network-related documentation is comprehensive and accessible for auditing and troubleshooting purposes.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively to support network operations and projects.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 10-15 years of experience in network management and engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Technical Expertise:

Proficiency with network technologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).

Experience with network hardware and software from leading vendors (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet).

Knowledge of network security best practices and tools (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.

Project Management: Experience managing network-related projects, with the ability to develop and execute project plans.


Preferred Certifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
  • CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
