About CompanyThe company operates in the publishing technology industry, providing innovative digital workflow solutions for organizations involved in scholarly and academic communication.Job DescriptionFinance Management Actively drive the development of internal controls, policies, and governance frameworks.Prepare monthly and quarterly management reportingParticipate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadershipSupport project analysis, validation of plans, and ad-hoc requestsManage the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systemsEnsure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements Treasury Management Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investmentEnsure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirementsUse hedging to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company's borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange positionsMaintain banking relationshipsAssist in determining the company's proper capital structureArrange for equity financing and debt financingInvest fundsRecommend appropriate dividend issuances, based on historical dividend patterns and expected cash flows Financial Planning and Analysis Budgeting: Manage the preparation of the company's budgetReport to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variancesAssist management in the formulation of its overall strategic directionEngage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the companyReview the performance of the company and the competitors and report on key issues to managementEngage in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvementInterpret the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activitiesReview company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughputParticipate in target costing activities to create products that meet predetermined price goalsAssist in the determination of product pricing in relation to features offered and competitor pricingCompile key business metrics and report on them to managementManage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysisCreate additional analyses and reports as requested by management What does the ideal candidate look like Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting or finance. CA or an MBA a plus.Minimum of 5-10 year of experience in finance and accountingPossesses an entrepreneurial mindset and strong passion for problem-solvingShould be excellent with research and analytical skills as well as presentation skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills are a mustExcellent understanding of business operations and procedures.The ability to work effectively across internal and external organizationsStrong leadership skills.Attention to detail while managing competing priorities and tight time pressures;Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Advanced modelling skills. Ability to synthesize complex data.
