Position: Backend Engineer Employment type: Contract for 12 months (subjected to possible extension) (Payroll and Compliance to be managed by the client) Working Days: Monday to Friday Mode of work: Remote Shift time: 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST Experience : 7 years+ Skills: Node.js, Express.js, NestJS, Git, Docker, AWS/ Azure / GCP, CI/CD Pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes Job Description Job Description Backend Engineer We are looking for a talented Backend Engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and has a strong passion for building scalable, reliable, and innovative software solutions. What You’ll Bring (Must-Haves) Backend Development : Strong hands-on experience with Node.js (Express.js/NestJS), designing and maintaining scalable APIs and microservices. Databases : Proficiency with SQL databases. CI/CD Pipelines : Practical experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) for automated build, test, and deployment. Version Control : Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows. Testing & Quality : Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, PyTest) to ensure maintainable and bug-free code. Cloud Deployment : Experience deploying and monitoring applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Collaboration Skills : Comfortable working in cross-functional, remote teams using tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar. Good-to-Have Serverless Experience : Familiarity with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, or equivalent serverless frameworks. AI Integration : Exposure to Generative AI tools and APIs (OpenAI, LangChain, etc.) and interest in applying AI/ML to improve workflows. DevOps Mindset : Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Full-Stack Awareness : Basic knowledge of frontend technologies (React, TypeScript) to collaborate with UI engineers effectively. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs. Build and optimize database schemas and queries for scalability and performance. Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable deployments. Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate APIs seamlessly with user interfaces. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability. Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews with a fully remote team.
