Job Title: Design and Proposal Engineer – Water TreatmentDepartment: Engineering / ProposalsLocation: CoimbatoreReporting To: Senior Manager – Projects / Business DevelopmentHR - + Summary:The Design and Proposal Engineer will be responsible for preparing process designs, technical documentation, cost estimations, and techno-commercial proposals for water and wastewater treatment projects (STP, ETP, WTP, RO, Softener, etc.). The role involves coordination with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure technically sound and competitive proposals.Key Roles & Responsibilities:Design and develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for water and wastewater treatment systems.- Prepare detailed technical proposals, equipment sizing, and BOQ (Bill of Quantity).- Select suitable treatment technologies (physical, chemical, biological, membrane-based).- Estimate costs, prepare tender documents, and review specifications as per client requirements.- Liaise with vendors and suppliers for technical quotations and system integration.- Support the sales and business development team in technical discussions and presentations.- Review tender documents, drawings, and ensure compliance with standards.- Prepare AutoCAD drawings and design calculations as required.- Coordinate with the project and procurement teams during handover.- Stay updated with new technologies and industry best practices in water treatment.Qualifications & Skills:Education: B.E./B.Tech in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.Experience: 2–5 years in design and proposal of STP, ETP, WTP, or RO systems.Software Skills: AutoCAD, MS Office, Excel, and knowledge of design software (e.g., WaterCAD, PipeFlow).Knowledge: Process design principles, water chemistry, and cost estimation.Soft Skills: Strong analytical ability, communication, and teamwork skills.Preferred Experience:Experience with municipal and industrial water treatment projects.Exposure to tendering processes (CPWD, TWAD, TNPCB, etc.).Familiarity with various treatment technologies such as MBBR, SBR, UF, RO, and ZLD systems.
