Role Purpose Statement:
The position reports to the Product Management & Strategy Lead for Bunge India. The Strategy function is responsible for formulating and implementing the Food Solutions business strategy in India, identify strategic thrust areas and supporting implementation / execution of initiatives. To this end, the Manager, Strategy, will be responsible for market/commercial analysis, strategic thinking, financial analysis, valuation work and management of projects aimed at evaluating and executing Food Solutions’ Strategies to grow our business in India. 

Major Opportunities and Decisions:
The role will require developing an in-depth understanding of Bunge India’s business today and studying the market to identify opportunities for growth in the future. The individual will need be comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain and Innovation to help inform decisions related to strategy. The manager must be an independent individual comfortable working on multiple projects at a time and who is able to shift focus quickly as priorities change whilst keeping track of overall project progress.

Teamwork:
Stakeholders: Bunge India leadership team, Bunge Food Solutions regional & global business unit VPs, Bunge Food Solutions Business Development team, Bunge Business Development team, Strategy Steerco members as required, external stakeholders that provide consultancy services, external stakeholders for possible M&A and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities: 

Support the formulation of Bunge India’s strategy, including – market mapping, identifying key growth areas (in oils & fats and other agri-commodities), customer analysis and analyzing strategic choices. -30%  Manage and help deliver some of the Business Cases for investments that derive from the strategy workstreams. This involves working with cross-functional leaders to understand the full business impact of the initiative, and preparing presentation materials and financial model to justify the investment. -20%  Evaluating opportunities and doing financial valuation for potential M&A opportunities -20%  Support the Strategy team’s executive stakeholder engagement to drive decision making by creating presentation materials, answering questions, and providing updates on progress across workstreams.-20% (% Time) Support global Business Development team on any workstreams/projects related to India - 10%

Dimensions/ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Timely and high-quality completion of the workstreams the manager leads the execution of;

• Develop clear and conclusive analysis and materials to evaluate market opportunities, frame strategic choices, contrast and compare alternative strategies to support decision-making by Strategy Steercos members;

• Applies commercial acumen to business risks and opportunities

• Build strong, professional relationships with Bunge employees in India but also the Corporate Office and Regional Offices based on trust, collaboration, and value added; develop good insights into their personalities, skills, and objectives to tailor style accordingly.

• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and resolve personal issues with minimal friction

Education: 
Relevant business degree from leading schools or universities

Experience: 
3-5 years of experience in strategy and M&A related corporate finance experience from Consulting, large Corporate or Investment Banking

Competencies/ Knowledge/Skills:
To fulfil this objective, we are looking for a team player who can work with cross functional team from Bunge’s businesses and lead strategy, M&A or large capex projects. The new BLC Strategy Manager should bring experience in market/commercial analysis, commercial acumen, strong strategic thinking, project management, corporate finance & financial modelling skills but also project structuring and negotiation skills. Ability to think critically, strategically and creatively to solve business issues, move the business forward and evolve the strategy with a collaborative and constructive approach are core competencies.

In terms of the softer skills, we are looking for:
• Individuals with genuine interest in agribusiness and/or food production
• Team players who can work with business and function leaders to advance projects
• Analytical talent, comfortable with being a self-starter
• Enjoys taking initiative to identify business questions and formulate hypotheses independently
• Applies quantitative fact-based analyses to answer those questions and test those hypotheses
• Intellectual curiosity to drive analysis which can be turned into implementable strategies
• Good communicators able to translate the insights of their work into clear documents in Word and PowerPoint
• Who are excited about working with a diverse group of people
• Ability to influence teams
