Job Description:

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to oversee the development and maintenance of our Online and Desktop products. This role reports directly to the Director of Engineering and will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation and excellence in product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers focused on Online and Desktop products.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Set clear goals, provide regular performance feedback, and support career development for team members.
  • Product Development:
    • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of Online and Desktop products.
    • Ensure the development of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions.
    • Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and technical assessments to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Project Management:
    • Plan and manage engineering projects from inception to completion.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Implement best practices in project management, including Agile methodologies.
  • Technical Oversight:
    • Provide technical guidance and direction to the engineering team.
    • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to define technical roadmaps and product strategies.
    • Create plans to minimize technical debt while delivering new capabilities
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product management, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment on product development and delivery.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Resource Management:
    • Manage the engineering resources, including allocation and utilization.
    • Optimize team productivity and ensure the efficient use of resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing engineering teams and delivering complex software products.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in software development, architecture, and design.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
