Role OverviewWe are seeking a motivated

Junior AI Engineer

to join our team and work closely with our

Lead AI Engineer. This role is ideal for someone with foundational skills in AI and machine learning, who is eager to deepen their expertise in applied AI within AgTech. The successful candidate will support the development, optimization, and deployment of AI models that monitor crop health, predict yields, and automate decision-making in our vertical farming systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in Model Development : Collaborate with the AI team to build, train, and optimize machine learning and deep learning models for crop health monitoring, yield prediction, and disease detection.Data Processing and Preparation : Prepare and preprocess large datasets, including images and sensor data, ensuring quality and consistency for training and evaluation.Model Evaluation and Testing : Perform model validation and testing, providing performance reports and suggestions for improvement.Integration with IoT Systems : Work with IoT engineers to integrate AI models with real-time sensor data for dynamic control of environmental conditions.Performance Monitoring : Assist in monitoring model performance over time and implementing adjustments to improve accuracy and efficiency.Continuous Learning and Research : Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in AI and machine learning, applying new techniques as appropriate to enhance our AI solutions.Documentation : Document workflows, data pipelines, model training processes, and provide technical support to the broader team as needed.

Required QualificationsEducational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field with a focus on machine learning, AI, or data analysis.Technical Skills :Proficiency in

Python

and relevant ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).Foundational knowledge of

machine learning algorithms

and

model development .Experience with

data preprocessing

techniques, including handling images and structured data.Familiarity with

SQL

or similar for database management.Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for model deployment.Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze data trends, perform error analysis, and communicate findings effectively.Strong Communication Skills : Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred QualificationsExposure to

computer vision

techniques, particularly in agricultural or environmental applications.Experience with

real-time data processing

and

IoT systems .Knowledge of

Docker

or similar containerization tools for deployment.Previous experience in agriculture-related technology or an interest in AgTech.Soft SkillsProblem-Solving Attitude : Eager to troubleshoot and find creative solutions to technical challenges.Adaptability : Able to thrive in a dynamic environment with evolving technologies.Growth Mindset : Passionate about learning and developing skills in applied AI within the AgTech industry.
