Overview:In this role, the Principal Engineer performs the embedded Software development activities for multiple projects in the Seating systems by following the DO-178B/C guidelines.Position :

Principal Engineer - (Software Developer) P4 gradePrimary Responsibilities:Able to do design architecture, develop, review, modify, document, test, implement, install and support software applications and systems.Assist in the strategy planning and development of proposals for new businessResearching, consulting, analyzing and evaluating system program needs.End to end software Development activities as per DAL-D DO178B/C guidelines.Strong in Embedded software design and development using ‘C’.Preparation and Review of Software requirement document (SRD) from the System level documents as per DO178B/C guidelinesPreparation and Review of Software design documents (SDD) as per DO178B/C guidelines.Strong in implementation of UART, CAN, SPI, i2C, PWM, BLDC drivers, Timers & ADC.Experience in dsPIC33/PIC micro controllers, MPLAB IDEPerform Stack analysis, Memory analysis and WCET analysisPrior experience in conducting the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR)Preparation of slides and prior experience in conducting the SOI AuditsPreparation of software certification documents as per DO178B/C guidelines.Technically lead the project and guide/mentors the other members in the team.Knowledge on Boeing D6 standards and Airbus ABD standards.Familiarity with IBM DOORS, Polarion, ClearCase and ClearQuest is an advantageIdentifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods.Testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors and faults in an applications programming language within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure programs and applications perform to specification.Writing and maintaining program code to meet system requirements, system designs and technical specifications in accordance with quality accredited standards.Writing, updating and maintaining technical program, end user documentation and operational procedures.Understand the interfaces and behaviors of external software and hardware components that interact with the currently developed component.Learn and be able to use test equipment (e.g. Logic Analyzer) and software debugging tools to aid in the integration process. Learn techniques and skills required to identify a root cause of a given software integration issue.Manage the software configuration management, Requirement management, defect tracking and peer review processInteract with US POCs for close coordination of the project activitiesReport to Engineering ManagerCritical thinker, decision making and problem-solving skillsAnalyze, monitor and improve efficiency, stability of the systemKnowledge/Hands on experience in Python, C#, C++ - OptionalKnowledge/Hands on experience in Linux, RTOS – OptionalKnowledge in model based development using Matlab - OptionalBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics/Tele Communication and 12+ years of relevant experience is required in Software Development activities using DO-178B/C guidelinePreferred Qualifications:Complete experience in Aerospace domainCollins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
