Job Description: Sales Supervisor (Modern Trade) - FMCG Products Business – Katanga
Location : Katanga , DRCongo
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Modern Trade Business Management: Oversee the operations and performance of the Modern Trade business segment within the assigned region. Drive growth through strategic partnerships with large retail chains and supermarkets.
2. Field Operations: Actively engage in fieldwork by visiting modern trade outlets. Negotiate shelf space and ensure the optimal placement of the company’s FMCG products to maximize visibility and sales.
3. Category Management & Visual Merchandising: Develop and implement effective category management strategies, ensuring that products are displayed in a way that attracts customers. Use visual merchandising skills to enhance in-store displays and boost sales.
4. Team Leadership: Manage a team of 10 to 15 members, including merchandising teams at third-party retail stores. Set daily targets, monitor performance, and ensure that the team meets or exceeds sales objectives.
5. Promotions & Marketing: Plan and execute in-store promotions, product launches, and other marketing initiatives in collaboration with retail partners to drive consumer engagement and increase sales.
6. Data Management & Reporting: Utilize software applications like "Bizom" or other Modern Trade merchandise management and planogram software to track sales performance, monitor store compliance with planograms, and generate reports for senior management.
Required Skill Sets:
1. FMCG Product & Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of FMCG products, with expertise in category-wise display, visual merchandising, and market trends within the Modern Trade segment.
2. Sales & Negotiation Expertise: Proven experience in negotiating with large retailers, securing prime shelf space, and driving sales growth in Modern Trade environments.
3. Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using software applications like "Bizom" for merchandise management, planograms, and sales tracking.
Required Soft Skills:
1. Leadership & Team Management: Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and motivating a team, particularly in third-party retail environments. Ability to set clear goals and ensure team alignment with business objectives.
2. Communication & Relationship Building: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners, store managers, and team members.
3. Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to make informed decisions. Proactive problem-solving skills to address challenges in the field and optimize store performance.
