Our support and solutions are tailored to meet community needs and priorities. ROLE SUMMARY We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career or someone with lots of experience but looking for flexibility in a part-time position within a great organisation. The ideal candidate will have a background in NFP (Not-for-Profit) accounts. This position offers a flexible hybrid work environment, allowing you to work both remotely and in the office. You will be working for a purpose-driven organisation and making a meaningful impact. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports. Support the accounting team in various tasks, including reconciliations, data entry, process documentation and financial analysis. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support. Assist with general office administration tasks as needed. SELECTION CRITERIA Qualification Relevant degree and/or equivalent professional qualification, preferably in accounting or finance. CA and CPA qualified or working towards this. Work experience Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant positions; Previous working experience in Non for profit organisations is preferable; Technical skills Proficient in Finance accounting systems (esp. MYOB), Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and cloud-based solutions (Office 365 environment); Ability to work independently and as a part of a team Familiarity with AOP’s thematic areas of work is an asset; Languages Fluent English both spoken and written.
