Product Quality Lead

Job DescriptionKey missions of the position: Transformation of Ops quality performance by keeping “customer Centric” approach Lead by example while solving complex quality challenges (internal and external). Creating agile and resilient team to overcome product quality challenges (zero KM and Warranty) and demonstrate control on COPQ and reliability Responsibilities  Primary Responsibilities: Demonstrated ownership on product quality (internal and at customer’s premises). Instrumental in resolving all Zero KM and Warranty claims within stipulated time with excellent REX, LLC management and PFMEA approach Owning the complete Product Quality related processes, right from process inspection to Dispatch Inspection – with flawless execution of products Influencing suppliers to deliver highest level of quality. Overall cost reduction initiatives to support the budget and positive impact on financials. Demonstration of usage of various quality tools to solve customer issues and internal issues KPI management (Zero KM NCR, Warranty NCR, PPM, Backlog of NCRs, COPQ…) Effective implementation of engineering changes and process changes – systematically. FAI management / Delta FAI management. Systematic disposition of customer returned products / materials and internal NC products / parts. Associated Responsibilities: Effective execution of QRQC concept Demonstrated effort on various Kaizen / CI events – affecting product quality and reliability (including part quality) Setting up clear metrics and measurement targets for each sub function and focussed factory and periodic assessment of overall performance and course correction initiatives. Co-ordination with SISCO with the focus of improving product quality and reliability Communicate effectively (spoken and written) with all stake holders (internal and external) by making suitable presentations and creating positive impact. Number of people: --- 10 Budget Management:  YES ¨  NO ¨ Required Candidate Profile Education/Training Bachelor’s degree Basic awareness training on Quality Management Systems, QRQC, PFMEA, control plan, PPAP, ECR management. Shainin RedX, Six Sigma way of working are added advantage Training on handling customer portals and internal portals (like NC data base, Quality Data base etc…) Professional Experience Minimum of 15-18 years of work experience in the field of Railway products and sub systems or similar industries (like automotive, engineering industry…). In-depth of knowledge of customer interface on our products and sub systems and demonstrated capability of influencing customers on documents and audits (able to propose changes and creating winning edge). Adequate knowledge on supplier’s processes and able to influence changes to meet customer demand and expectations. Hands on experience in solving complex quality issues with excellent industry accolades. Key Competencies (Transversal/Professional) Competence Level Independent usage of Quality Tools (QRQC, 8D, RCA, FTA, PFMEA, Control Plan etc…) Able to train members and associates (customer and supplier) Technical knowledge on products and sub systems Able to explain independently to all stake holders (mainly customers) Development of Team Able to create and mentor Quality leaders in each Focused factory Communication (oral, written and presentation) Able to create the communication methodology / channel without any influence and support Quality system and procedures Able to propose changes in the existing QMS for betterment. Languages  Fluency in English (speak, read, and write) Fluency in Tamil (speak, read, and write) Adequacy in Hindi (speak) Other Specifications Channel partner between various functions (like Engineering, sourcing, methods, IE…) while   resolving quality challenges.
