Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Government Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in the state and central government sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in government sales, deep knowledge of the government procurement process and policies, and a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. The Government Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying and pursuing sales opportunities within the government sector, developing and executing sales strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to target the state and central government sectors.
Identify and pursue sales opportunities within government agencies, departments, and other relevant entities.
Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within the government sector.
Understand the government procurement process and policies, including bidding and contracting procedures.
Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to support sales efforts and ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide regular reporting on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity.
Stay informed about government initiatives, policies, and regulations that may impact sales opportunities.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our products and services.
Continuously assess and improve sales processes and strategies to optimize performance and achieve revenue targets.
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and customer needs to identify new opportunities for growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven track record of success in government sales, with at least 5+years of experience in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of the government procurement process and policies, including familiarity with bidding and contracting procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with government stakeholders.
Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, with a persuasive and solution-oriented approach to sales.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven attitude.
Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools for tracking leads, managing pipelines, and generating reports.
Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, and other business-related activities.
Understanding of the regulatory environment and compliance requirements relevant to government sales.
