We are seeking a talented concept artist to develop the visual style and concepts for our upcoming game concepts.


The Job

We are looking for a creative and versatile 2D Concept Artist Intern to join our team for a full-time, 3-month paid internship. In this role, you will play a crucial part in defining and exploring the visual style and themes for our upcoming games, including Winds of Arcana: Ruination and future projects. You will work closely with the design and art teams to create diverse concept art, from character designs and environments to props and mood boards, helping to establish the visual identity of each setting. 


The role offers the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic styles, drawing inspiration from varied palettes and themes, and translating those ideas into compelling visual concepts that align with the vision of our games. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the look and feel of a game from the ground up, with potential for continued collaboration if your work meets expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Concept Art Creation: Develop detailed 2D concept art for characters, environments, props, and other assets, helping to establish the visual direction for the game.
  • Style Exploration: Experiment with a wide range of artistic styles and themes, adapting to the unique tone and setting of each game project, from fantasy landscapes to more abstract or futuristic designs.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the art, design, and creative teams to ensure concept art aligns with game mechanics, narrative, and overall vision.
  • Mood Boards & References: Create mood boards, color palettes, and visual reference materials to guide the art team and inspire the development of the game’s visual style.
  • Iteration and Feedback: Revise and iterate on concepts based on feedback from the art director and other team members, ensuring designs are both creative and functional within the game’s environment.
  • Environment & Asset Design: Assist in the design of environments, characters, and props, focusing on how each element fits cohesively within the world of the game.
  • Presenting Ideas: Present your concepts in clear, compelling ways through sketches, digital paintings, and other visual mediums, contributing to team discussions and brainstorming sessions.


What You Bring

  • Strong Portfolio: A diverse portfolio showcasing 2D concept art skills, including character designs, environments, and props. Digital paintings or sketches that demonstrate creativity and versatility are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Digital Art Tools: Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, or other digital painting tools. Knowledge of tools like Procreate is a plus.
  • Creative Flexibility: Ability to work across various artistic styles and adapt designs to fit different game genres and settings.
  • Understanding of Visual Storytelling: Ability to create concept art that enhances the narrative and gameplay, with attention to how visuals impact the player experience.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to take feedback and communicate design ideas clearly to the team.
  • Passion for Games: A genuine interest in video games, with an understanding of how concept art contributes to game development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in industry-standard VFX software (e.g., After Effects, Houdini, Nuke, or similar).
  • (Nice to Have) Familiarity with 3D modeling software or experience in game art is a plus
  • (Must) Work out of our office in Bengaluru for five days a week
  • (Preferred) Exceptional communication and teamwork skills


Desired Education Level - Ability to display strong grasp of concept art creation, No formal education degree required.
