Position Title: Associate Vice President - TaxationReporting To: Senior Vice PresidentJob Purpose:-This role holder has the responsibility for overseeing and optimizing the company's taxation strategy and compliance. The role holder will ensure the organization's tax liabilities are managed efficiently, compliance with relevant tax regulations is maintained, and to provide strategic tax guidance that aligns with the company's financial goals.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:-Managerial Responsibility:- Recruitment of staff in Finance team as per the business requirement Managing performance of team members;

counselling & coaching team members from time to time to improve their performance Team engagement & retention of talentTrain, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team Functional ResponsibilityStrategic RoleEnsure effective communication of departmental objectives across the organization such that a clear line of sight is created between individual jobholders and the departmental objectivesDevelop and implement comprehensive tax strategies aligned with the company's financial objectivesProvide strategic guidance on tax implications for business decisions and initiativesIdentify and mitigate potential tax risks by staying abreast of changes in tax laws and regulationsOverseeing Regulatory Reporting & Taxation Department Execute a framework to test if the internal systems supporting compliance with regulatory requirements are properly designed, documented, and implemented and include appropriate governance and data quality controlsEnsure that tax and regulatory supervisions are taken care of in a proper manner such that they ensure the organization’s compliance is in line with the expected levelEnsure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations at the national and regional levelsOversee the preparation and filing of accurate and timely tax returnsEnsure zero financial risk to the company in terms of interest or penalties due to non-compliance with various statutory / regulatory laws (Taxation, IRDAI, SEBI, etc.)Ensure that transfer pricing documentation is compliant with regulatory requirementsProcess Improvement and InitiativesResearch revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, identify areas of cost reduction and process enhancementOversee the month-end close process, constantly review procedures while eliminating inefficienciesRecommend improvements to ensure integrity in the financial information of the organizationCollaborate with other departments to improve cost-effectiveness and optimize financial resourcesCompliance & Good GovernanceAccurate & error free record keeping of transactions and ensuring time to time reporting to the Management, Board & RegulatorsStakeholder RelationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external auditors, regulatory authorities, and investorsWork closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate tax accounting and reportingImplement robust controls to ensure the integrity of tax-related financial dataCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisionsLeadership and Team ManagementProvide strong leadership to the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvementMentor and develop finance professionals, encouraging their growth and ensuring a high level of expertise within the teamQualification & Experience:-Qualifications – Masters/ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration or any other subject in Commerce from any reputed university.A professional accountant like Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or any other internationally recognized professional certification is preferred.Experience –Minimum 15 years’ experience is a prerequisite for this role, experience in a finance leadership role is preferred.Functional / Technical Skills Expertise in Knowledge of Insurance Fundamentals, Products & ProcessesExpertise in Business Accounting & Financial PlanningExpertise in Regulatory Reporting, Shareholder ReportingExpertise in Business Analytics, Business Planning & ForecastingDigital Readiness – Expertise in working on MS Office & Android / Apple Platforms
