Purpose

•As a Splunk Consultant Engineer, you will work as part of the NAB Monitoring Platform (NMP) team to develop, configure, deploy and support NAB’s Monitoring and Diagnostics platform (Splunk) for the broader organisation

•The Service Reliability Engineer will be focused on driving better production systems by defining engineering approaches that deliver better operational best practice.


Essential capabilities

•Strong knowledge of Splunk architecture, administration, and custom development (Splunk certified admin / architect / developer or equivalent experience) across Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Enterprise Security.

•Experience in managing, supporting, deploying and documenting monitoring solutions

•Experience with Splunk data, Splunk reporting, Splunk knowledge objects, Splunk searching & optimization

•Linux OS (preferable Red hat proficiency).

•Excellent communication and analytical skills with ability to present technical details to the stakeholders in technical and non-technical backgrounds.

•Desirable - Knowledge of ELK (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana)


Experience

• 7+ years of experience

•Experience administering and/or developing for an enterprise level implementation of Splunk (clustered architecture).

•Proficient in Splunk query language (SPL) and experienced in developing and supporting custom Splunk search head applications for specific use cases.

•Strong technical knowledge of Red hat Linux, Firewalls and Load Balancing principles

•Extensive knowledge and experience of Agile and DevOps.

•Ansible, CD tools, particularly Jenkins preferable

•Scripting - Linux Shell & Python.

•Experienced user of Git / GitHub, Splunk Phantom, Syslog-ng and/or syslogs and Confluence.
