Sound Design and Music



We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Sound Engineer to join our team and lead the

production of high-quality audio series. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sound engineering, audio editing, sound design, and mixing. This role requires a detail-oriented

professional with a passion for audio storytelling who can manage multiple projects and work

collaboratively with writers, directors, and other production staff to create immersive audio

experiences.


+ Key Responsibilities:


Project Management


Maintain creative quality from raw VO to final mix and master.


Manage project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.


Coordinate and communicate effectively with writers, directors, and producers to achieve

objectives.


Mentor, provide guidance, and collaborate with Jr Sound Engineers.


Evaluate raw VO and determine if it meets Pocket FM standards.


Edit and mix VO for clarity, consistency, and sound quality.


Understand the creative nuances of dialogue pacing, tonality, emphasis, and performance.


Mastery of sound design; create, edit, and mix different forms of SFX (foley, ambience, unique

effects, etc.)


Source SFX and music from libraries.

Mixing and Mastering


Mastery of mixing fundamentals, techniques, and industry standard practices. i.e., compression,

limiting, EQ, and reverb/impulse responses (must know the difference between algorithmic and

convolution reverb).


Use volume automation to balance the elements in a mix and enhance the story.


Utilize templates to adhere to Pocket FM workflows, and be able to modify as needed.


Consistently output final deliverables per Pocket FM specs with minimal errors.


Skills and Competencies


Must have experience with Avid Pro Tools and 3rd party plugins.


Must have adequate home studio setup (good speaker/headphone monitoring strongly preferred)

Excellent attention to detail and a keen ear for sound quality.


Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Strong organizational and time management skills.


Personal Attributes


Must have incredible proficiency with the English language and fluency in American entertainment

culture.


Must be a highly creative thinker with a passion for audio storytelling.


Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges.


Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written.


Education and Experience


Bachelors degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in sound engineering or audio production.

Proven track record of producing high-quality audio stories or similar content.
