Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Kafka Admin to manage, maintain, and optimize our Kafka clusters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, scripting, and managing large-scale production environments. Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools is essential to ensure the smooth operation and scalability of our Kafka infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

● Manage and maintain Kafka clusters in production environments.

● Monitor and optimize Kafka performance to ensure reliability and scalability.

● Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell and Python to streamline operations and tasks.

● Perform Linux administration tasks, including server setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.

● Manage large-scale production workloads with a focus on availability, performance, and security.

● Collaborate with the DevOps and Engineering teams to integrate Kafka with CI/CD pipelines.

● Implement and manage observability tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, and Grafana for monitoring and alerting.

● Ensure smooth Kafka operations within AWS environments, leveraging cloud infrastructure to meet business needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

● 3+ years of experience managing and administering Kafka clusters.Install, configure, and manage Kafka clusters in KRaft mode (Kafka without Zookeeper).

● Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell and Python for automation.

● Strong experience in Linux administration and troubleshooting.

● Proven experience managing large-scale production environments with Kafka.

● Familiarity with CI/CD technologies and hands-on experience with observability tools like New Relic, Prometheus, and Grafana.

● Hands-on experience working with AWS environments and cloud technologies.

● Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience with disaster recovery and Kafka security.

● Knowledge of Kafka stream processing and Kafka Connect.

● Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
