THE COMPANY


Our client, with an international footprint, is a dynamic, fast-growing manufacturing organization specializing in material movement mechanization & automation machinery manufacturing. They are looking for an Operations Head who can bring specific industry and product experience to the table, ensuring operational processes are streamlined and effective in this specialized field.


THE ROLE


As the Operations Head, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of operations within the company, particularly focused on the automation industry. This role requires in-depth industry-specific knowledge and the ability to manage complex field-based operations. You will play a key role in ensuring that operational strategies align with business goals and in driving efficiency across all functions. The ideal candidate will have experience managing operations in the automation industry, including logistics, machinery, and field team management.


Key Responsibilities:


Operational Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the overall operations with a focus on automation solutions, ensuring efficiency and scalability across all operations.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align operational strategies with business objectives and drive organizational growth.
  • Monitor and optimize all operational processes related to automation products and services, ensuring high productivity and customer satisfaction.

Team Management & Field Operations:

  • Manage and provide direction to field teams, ensuring seamless operations and maintenance of automation machinery and solutions.
  • Build a culture of accountability, trust, and self-initiative across the operations team.
  • Mentor and develop team members, particularly in the automation sector, ensuring performance and skill alignment with business needs.

Process Improvement & Execution:

  • Oversee the execution of operational projects related to automation solutions, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery in the automation sector.
  • Identify and address operational bottlenecks specific to automation, proposing solutions to streamline processes and improve productivity.

Change Management & Strategy Execution:

  • Collaborate with senior management on strategy formulation and ensure the effective execution of operational plans in the automation domain.
  • Drive cultural transformation by creating initiatives that align operational processes with company values and business goals.
  • Lead change management efforts, particularly during the expansion of automation solutions and services.

Resource Management:

  • Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, specific to automation operations.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency across automation-related operations.
  • Work with procurement and supply chain teams to manage inventory, sourcing, and logistics for smooth operational flow of automation products.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure all operations adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies within the automation sector.
  • Manage risk by implementing and enforcing compliance measures, particularly for automation machinery and solutions, ensuring a safe and legally compliant operational environment.


THE CANDIDATE


Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Operations Head or similar senior role in operations management within the automation industry, with 12-20 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have good experience in material movement mechanization & automation machinery manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work closely with senior management to develop and execute operational strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in driving process improvements and managing change within a fast-growing automation business.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation specific to automation solutions.
  • Familiarity with safety, compliance, and risk management practices for automation machinery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical or Automation engineer
  • Specific experience in industries related to automation solutions and logistics.
  • Familiarity with the challenges of managing operations in the automation and machinery industry.
  • Knowledge of lean management or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.


COMPENSATION

Max 36 LPA + Benefits.
