Job Title Cloud Engineering - EngineerJob SummaryAs a Cloud Engineer you play an important role in enabling Telstra to consume public (AWA, Azure, GCP) and private Cloud services, by having a breadth of knowledge in one or more public and private Cloud systems. Your proficiency in cloud systems will enable you to work with team members to support Telstra’s operational platforms to house strategic applications and services. Your technical skillset and continuous learning and improvement mindset are critical to success in the role.Looking for a rockstar python developer in AWS environment, details below.•Write and test reusable and scalable code•Gain an in-depth understanding of business/client needs•Have 3-5 years of experience as a Python developer.•Know about machine learning and artificial intelligence•Debug applications and performance tuning•Implement security components•Use Python libraries•Automation deployment•Design and develop back-end components•Check and review written codes•Create functional applications•Develop data security solutions•Good understanding on Python and related frameworks.•Have a deep understanding of the multi-process architecture and limitations of Python threading.•Familiar with server-side template languages including Jinja 2 and Mako.•Able to integrate multiple data sources into one system.•Familiar with testing tools.•Able to collaborate on projects and work independently when needed. As a Cloud Engineer you play an important role in enabling Telstra to consume public (AWA, Azure, GCP) and private Cloud services, by having a breadth of knowledge in one or more public and private Cloud systems. Your proficiency in cloud systems will enable you to work with team members to support Telstra’s operational platforms to house strategic applications and services. Your technical skillset and continuous learning and improvement mindset are critical to success in the role.
As a Cloud Engineer, you apply your knowledge in cloud systems and utilise agile and/or lean ways of working to deliver the following responsibilities:• Contribute to the operation and integration of Cloud services that support complex IT systems and solutions to help achieve our strategic priorities and objectives• Provide engineering support of production and non-production environments, help onboard new Applications/Services and continuously participate in building value-add capabilities into the platform• Work closely and collaboratively with Cloud service providers, technology partners and stakeholders to understand customer needs, provide inputs into the approach, help to accelerate change, drive speed and agility to achieve outcomes that deliver a great customer experience• Assist with building continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) systems that install, configure, deploy and monitor Cloud solutions, contributing to effective integration and automation by leveraging and enhancing open source libraries and frameworks• Take accountability for using data infrastructure to automatically gather, manage and analyse performance data to help identify impacts, escalate to relevant stakeholders and collaborate across teams to validate the approach to resolve platform issues• Participate in optimising public cloud spend by validating system architecture/design and provide inputs to identify cost saving solutions within performance and operational requirements• Actively contribute to the evaluation and implementation of automated optimisation opportunities to help reduce repetitive manual steps, improve Cloud security, self-healing of platform issues and anomalies using data and analytics from internal and service provider systems• Operate Cloud platforms in accordance with defined enterprise security, privacy guidelines and structural separation requirements• Strongly contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives that help to evolve our Cloud platform strategy, technology adoption and processes. This may include supporting team members with Proof of Concept (POC) projects and service operationalisation for newly released Cloud technology and/or services• Participate in assessing the capability of vendor solutions and managing vendor delivery, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards• Model continuous learning by building your expertise and capability in Cloud technologies (including new and emerging technologies, tools, systems and processes) and seeking coaching and mentoring from more experienced engineering team membersLooking for a rockstar python developer in AWS environment, details below.• Write and test reusable and scalable code• Gain an in-depth understanding of business/client needs• Have 3-5 years of experience as a Python developer.
