JOB PURPOSE :

The position will have the primary purpose of supporting the Quality Management System within the assigned operational area, by providing ability and advice on production or product problems feedback from both internal and external customers. Conduct investigations, analyses information and help teams dealing with issues/projects associated with resolution of quality problems.

JOB DUTIES:

Creation of APQP documentation (e.g., Process FMEA {failure mode & effects analysis}, Process Control Plans for in house manufacturing process like assembly, fabrication, machining, and painting. Facilitate Requirements management, Boundary Diagram, Design FMEA & Team Feasibility Commitment. Validate Supplier’s PPAP documents and collaborate with suppliers to bring their quality to meet Caterpillar expectations. Provide clarification on supplier submitted PPAP documents comparing with design records and general engineering standards. Train and coach internal and external teams on APQP, FMEA, Control plan and MSA. Generate APQP metrics and share to the NPI Program managers about the project progress. Support in Supplier quality audits and Validates process capability. Ensure PPAP effectiveness and support ON TIME PPAP approvals. Ownership and development of auxiliary tools such as Power BI, Tableau and Power apps to support warranty analysis and investigative tasks. Work with different contacts, brings innovative ideas and opportunities into the team. Must have a thorough working knowledge of quality initiatives to ensure that Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is completed and approved before new parts are delivered. This includes leadership in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activity. Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization. Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with elevated levels of precision. Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyse situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change. Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, expecting, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to prove and support healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient use of technical and administrative resources to achieve project goals. Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures, and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and check manufacturing processes for compliance.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience needed. Knowledge of the tools and techniques of 6 Sigma method is highly desired and will be reached through prior completion of Green Belt training and/or other 6 Sigma experience. Experience in Reliability engineering, problem solving tools, Quality control methodologies, 8D, CAPA. Good in engineering drawings, GD&T, Product Design, Manufacturing process, AIAG guidelines, ISO 9001 requirements. High interpersonal skill, communication skills and project management knowledge are must to have as this role needs to collaborative with other internal and external teams. Experience in PowerApps, PowerBI and Visual Basic would be an added advantage.

Desired Qualifications:

Certified ISO Internal / Lead Auditor 6 Sigma Green belt – DMAIC Experience in Minitab Creo – 3D modelling / 2D drawings.
