Network L2 Engineer :Firewall Configuration & Troubleshooting (Palo Alto and FortiGate):Configure and maintain Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls.Implement security policies, NAT configurations, and VPN setups (IPsec and SSL VPN).Troubleshoot firewall issues including traffic blocking, NAT, session management, and policy violations.Perform routine security audits, policy reviews, and SSL decryption configuration.Wireless Access Points (Meraki) Configuration & Troubleshooting:Configure Meraki wireless access points for multiple SSIDs, VLANs, and security settings.Manage and troubleshoot connectivity issues, performance degradation, and interference.Analyze RF environments and adjust settings like channel and power configurations to optimize wireless networks.Use Meraki dashboard to monitor clients, events, and perform packet captures for analysis.Switching & Routing Configuration & Troubleshooting (Cisco):Configure and maintain Cisco switches, including VLAN setup, trunking, EtherChannel, and STP configurations.Perform troubleshooting for Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching issues, including routing table checks, VLAN misconfigurations, and link aggregation problems.Configure and manage routing protocols like OSPF and EIGRP.Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues such as packet drops, interface errors, and network loops.Network Performance and Monitoring:Use tools for network monitoring, traffic analysis, and log management to ensure the health of the network.Monitor key network performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance performance.Security and Compliance:Enforce firewall and network security policies as per company and regulatory standards.Participate in regular network audits and security reviews.Provide input on disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring hot and cold standby solutions are configured.Documentation & Reporting:Create and maintain network diagrams, configuration documentation, and troubleshooting guides.Prepare reports on network performance, incidents, and changes for management review.

Skills & Qualifications:Technical Expertise:Firewalls:

Strong hands-on experience with

Palo Alto

and

FortiGate

firewalls, including policy management, NAT, VPN, and SSL decryption.Wireless (Meraki):

Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting

Meraki

access points via the cloud dashboard.Switching & Routing:

Solid experience with

Cisco switches

and routers, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, and EtherChannel configuration.Networking Concepts:

Good understanding of Layer 2/3 networking concepts, including VLANs, trunking, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP), STP, and IP addressing.Troubleshooting Skills:Strong problem-solving abilities for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving network issues across firewalls, switches, and wireless networks.Familiarity with CLI-based troubleshooting (e.g., show and debug commands on Cisco/Palo Alto) and network monitoring tools.Network Security:Experience with network security principles, including firewall policy management, encryption (IPsec), and user access controls.Understanding of endpoint protection tools and UTM solutions.Certifications:

Any of the following would be a plus:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)Any Certifications on Palo Alto, Fort iGATE would be a plus

Soft Skills:Strong documentation and communication skills, able to work with cross-functional teams and provide clear network assessments and recommendations.Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
