Job Description:
We are seeking a Major Incident Manager with expertise in Azure cloud technologies to oversee
the efficient and effective management of major incidents. The ideal candidate will play a critical
role in ensuring that our Azure-based systems and services are resilient and that any
disruptions are promptly addressed, minimizing downtime and impact on our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Major Incident Management: Lead the coordination, communication until the resolution
of major incidents that impact our Azure-based services. This includes taking ownership of incidents, assembling cross-functional teams, and driving the incident management process to
resolution.
- Azure Technical Expertise : Possess in-depth knowledge of Azure services, infrastructure, and configurations. Provide technical guidance to incident response teams during major incidents to diagnose and resolve issues promptly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with technical teams, support staff, and relevant stakeholders to ensure swift and effective response to major incidents. Facilitate communication and coordination among involved parties.
- Documentation : Maintain detailed incident records, including timelines, actions taken and resolutions.
- Incident Escalation : Understand incident severity levels and ensure appropriate escalation procedures are followed to engage necessary resources and expertise.
- Incident Process Improvement : Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the incident management process and contribute to the development and improvement of incident management practices.
- Emergency Response : Be available for on-call duties and respond to major incidents outside of regular working hours as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in managing major incidents, especially in Azure cloud environments.
- ITIL Certification is mandatory.
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly
- desirable.
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of Azure services, and
- infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively coordinate incident response
- activities.
- Familiarity with incident management frameworks and best practices.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to incident resolution.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Working Conditions:
This role may require working outside of regular business hours to respond to major incidents
promptly. It may also involve remote work and on-call responsibilities as needed.
