KeyResponsibilities:
1.Design and Aesthetics:
Design Oversight: Lead thedesigners in creating Indofusion collections that blend traditionwith contemporary trends.
Ethnic and IndoFusionElements: Infuse ethnic motifs fabrics and silhouettes with modernaesthetics to create unique and appealing designs.
Approval Process: Review and approve all design concepts ensuringalignment with brand vision and market preferences.
Sampling: Coordinate sampling and act as a link between design/fitting to sales.
2. ProductAssortment and Planning:
Option Planning: Develop astrategic plan for the assortment considering factors likeseasonality trends and customer preferences.
SubCategoryMix: Decide on the mix of subcategories (e.g. kurtas kurta setsdresses) based on market demand and profitability. Evaluateexisting subcategories and propose additions or deletions asneeded.
3. Pricing Strategy:
Pricing Decisions: Determine competitive pricing for products whilemaintaining quality standards.
Profit Margins: Balancepricing to achieve optimal profit margins without compromisingcustomer value.
4. Fabric and ProductionUnderstanding:
Fabric Selection: Collaborate withsourcing and production teams to choose suitable fabrics for theoptions in Indian wear.
Quality Control: Ensure thatfabric quality meets industry standards and customerexpectations.
5. BusinessAcumen:
Apparel Industry Knowledge: Stay informed aboutindustry trends competitor offerings and consumerbehavior.
Buying and Planning: Have a strongunderstanding of the buying process inventory management and demandforecasting.
Market Insights: Use market insights todrive product decisions and identify growthopportunities.
6. Collaborationand Reporting:
Supplier Relationships: Build strongsupplier relations and having a creative focus on productdevelopment to strike the right balance between quality price andtiming.
CrossFunctional Collaboration: Work closely withdesign production marketing and sales teams to alignstrategies.
Effective Reporting: Track designdevelopment progress market trends and sales performance. Provideactionable insights for future improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:Bachelors or masters degree in Fashion Design from reputed colleges(NIFT).
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience inproduct design and buying. Proven ability to lead and inspire adesign team.
Creativity: Strong aesthetic sense andability to blend tradition with innovation.
AnalyticalSkills: Proficient in data analysis (specially excel) trendforecasting and market research.
Communication: Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills
