Overview:
Jaipur Rugs Farm is seeking an experienced Organic Farm Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our organic farming operations in Jaipur, India. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainable agriculture, extensive knowledge of organic farming practices, and strong leadership skills to lead a team towards achieving our farm's goals.
Responsibilities :
Planning : Develop and implement strategic plans for organic farming operations to maximize productivity, sustainability, and profitability.
Management : Plan, schedule, and oversee all activities related to crop cultivation, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease control, and harvesting, ensuring adherence to organic farming principles.
Health Management : Monitor soil health and fertility levels, implement soil conservation practices, and develop strategies for improving soil quality through composting, cover cropping, and other organic methods.
Rotation and Diversification : Design and implement crop rotation schedules and diversification strategies to enhance soil fertility, minimize pests and diseases, and optimize yields.
Certification : Manage the organic certification process, ensuring compliance with organic standards and regulations, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating inspections.
Leadership : Recruit, train, and supervise farm staff, providing guidance, motivation, and support to ensure high levels of performance, teamwork, and safety.
and Cost Control : Develop and manage the farm budget, including expenses for labour, equipment, supplies, and maintenance, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize financial performance.
and Infrastructure Maintenance : Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm equipment, machinery, and infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality and safety standards.
Control and Assurance : Establish and enforce quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of organic produce quality, including grading, packaging, and storage practices.
Stewardship : Promote environmental sustainability by implementing conservation practices, minimizing waste and pollution, and fostering biodiversity on the farm.
and Innovation : Stay updated on the latest developments in organic farming techniques, technologies, and trends, and lead research initiatives to test and adopt innovative practices for continuous improvement.
Engagement : Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to promote organic farming awareness, share best practices, and support sustainable agriculture initiatives.
Qualifications:
degree or higher in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field.
5 years of experience in organic farming, with proven managerial experience.
knowledge of organic farming principles, practices, and techniques.
leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
to multitask, prioritize workload, and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
in computer applications related to farm management and record-keeping.
with organic certification processes and regulations.
