(Hungary necessary and other EMEA countries, as required)The role may involve some preparatory work depending on the country/requirements of the team.Review and sign off balance sheet account reconciliations. Ensure proper escalation protocol is adhered to for any aging items.Ensure all Indirect Tax payments are made on time and refunds requested in a timely manner.Establish and own the indirect tax calendar to ensure all filings are submitted timely and accuratelyMonitor changes in Indirect Tax rules - understand the impact on the compliance process, make any necessary changes and ensure any changes to process/ERP are implemented.Identify and take ownership in projects on Indirect tax related matters or any legal or process or business changes. Identify the stakeholders, set the project goals, actions and target. Follow up on progress and apply effective control points.Responsible for continuous process improvement – ensure Indirect Tax Compliance process is robust, efficient, and documented and has best in class controls.Identify areas to automate wherever possible to streamline the process or improve the process by suggesting new controls.Lead internal and external audit reviews, SOX compliance checks in cooperation with auditors and authorities.Manage any audits as required by Viatris businesses (e.G., tax Inspections) and work to ensure all documentation is prepared and reviewed in line with audit deadlinesWork with outsourced provider where relevant and work with other Indirect Tax Team members or other Viatris departments, to resolve any quality issues.Support Indirect Tax Management on any Indirect Tax Projects that may be ongoing (i.E., Indirect Tax Recovery/Cash Flow projects)/ ERP related projects (e.G., testing new requirement, acquisitions, SAP/ERP implementation etc).Ensure Indirect Tax SLA and quality metrics are met and provide an update on these each month in the format prescribed by Quality team and/or Indirect Tax ManagementMaintain a solid understanding of the overall market, business, and operations of the companyWork closely with the Indirect Tax Centre of Excellence teams to achieve the aims of the group across the globe.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance (or equivalent)CA, CPA, CMA, CS, etc qualifications would be an added advantage6 to 10 years of tax experience, highly preferably in a mix of public accounting and multinational corporate environmentStrong knowledge of ERP software, preferably SAPExtensive knowledge on Indirect Tax regulationsComprehensive knowledge of industry practices and standards.Strong technical and financial report writing ability.Excellent communication and collaboration skillsStrong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements, new technologies and tools.Ability to understand and communicate complex tax matters to internal and external stakeholdersTax advisory/audit experience is a strong advantage.Project management expertise would help as well.Extensive experience in working with tax rules, regulations and tax authoritiesExcellent skills in MS Excel, Word and PowerPointA strong work ethic and passion for being hands-on in problem-solving and executionExecutive presence with excellent analytical skills, written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to clearly convey tax concepts to management & global audiencesExcellent interpersonal skillsStrong skills in decision making, analysis, and use of judgment, i.E., a self-starter, quick learner and with strong negotiation skills will thrive in this role.Experiences in team lead and people management is a plus.
