As a React Software Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for the requirements, design, development, and implementation of software and software interfaces for NCR’s Radiant Point-of-Sale Fuel Controller product--a highly concurrent embedded system that orchestrates the behaviors of outdoor automated fuel dispensers. You will interact daily with other team members in a leadership capacity to ensure that a quality product is delivered on schedule. You are expected to be able to own the solution to complex software problems from design to delivery and oversee the efforts of others working on the same projects. You will work with Quality Engineers and Software Engineers to plan and execute efficient sprints and agile iterations as directed by an external product management team.


You will also:


• Interact with and lead both onshore and offshore developers and QA

• Gather and assess business requirements

• Design, modify, implement, and document software changes

• Be part of and provide leadership to a self-organizing Agile development team of 5-10 contributors

• Participate in and lead conversations regarding the technical and architectural direction of a complex product

• Participate in analysis, design, testing, and review processes

• Provide estimates for potential work based on high level requirements.

• Write product specifications, troubleshooting guides, and user technical manuals

• Evaluate third-party products and specifications

• Provide feedback to peer performance reviews

• Educate others (technical and non-technical) on areas of expertise

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications


· Bachelor’s degree in a related area (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Services, Management Information Services) or equivalent industry experience.

· Required 10+ years of full stack programming experience

· Required 5+ years of recent Node.js, React, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python experience

· Experience leading a team of developers

· Accountability for delivery of team projects

· Excellent verbal and written communications

· Experience working with customers directly

· An ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences

· A tendency to take charge in a collaborative environment

· Experience producing technical designs and reviewing the technical design and implementation work of others

· Excellent troubleshooting skills

· Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall based SDLCs

· A thirst for knowledge that drives you to learn about new and emerging technologies


Preferred Qualifications


· C++ Experience

· Test automation experience using gtest, Cucumber, Behave, Gherkin

· Linux experience

· Networking, TCP/IP Socket level communications

· Experience in SQL Server database design and creation of complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers and performance optimization

· Preferred Retail experience, especially in the Convenience Store industry and Point of Sale systems
