The Senior Manager/Associate Director of QA will be responsible for leading a team of QA Managers and will report to the CEO.

Key to the role is to ensure the successful delivery of multiple products and ensure that there are no escalated defects, also ensuring that we shift QA left.

The candidate should be an excellent leader, able to coach QA managers and QA leads, have experience running large QA functions out of India to success, and working closely with engineering.

  • Experience in QA of Web, Mobile, and Desktop applications.
  • Ad-hoc self-led exploratory testing in production.
  • Advise/enablement on automation, advise improvements and detail missing journeys/review changes.
  • Advise/enablement on accessibility testing.
  • Advise/enablement on compatibility testing.
  • Advise/enablement on performance testing.
  • Apply and uphold team-based standards for testing tools and techniques and advise on their application.
  • Help define and roll out improvements to testing and quality processes across both a tech team and the wider company.
  • Work towards more efficient ways of testing using the best tools/methodologies.
  • Work within, and encourage a Dev-ops culture and Continuous Delivery process.
  • Work within agile cross-functional product teams.
  • Lead a team of QA Managers.
  • Manage & deliver the release(s) to production with no escaped defects (ultimately no incidents).
  • Identify & mitigate any risks around QA and share these with stakeholders.
  • Lead QA Managers who collaborate with the automation team to specify what we need to automate so that it takes the time to delivery down.
  • Should have working knowledge of SQL queries to check the database.
  • Understand and execute automation tests, functional tests, performance tests, stress tests, and regression tests.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and documenting testing methodologies.
  • Analyze data and results of tests, record defects, provide status.
  • Track escaped defects and report on the efficiency of QA practices.
  • Experience with mobile automation.
  • Contribute to the QA community of practice.
  • Contribute to the QA strategy, QA culture in the team, and development.
  • Identify training needs across the practice.

Required Skills and Experience:

General:

  • Experience as a Senior Manager/Associate Director of Testing/Senior Manager/Associate Director of QA and experience leading large-scale teams (roughly 100 members), across teams and the organization.
  • Keen interest in technology and computing.

  • Ability to create test approaches and contribute to a testing strategy.
  • Understanding of the value of performance testing.
  • Ability to take other disciplines on the QA journey and ensure QA is everyone's responsibility (product, delivery, engineering).

Technical:

  • SQL server knowledge (essential).
  • Understanding basic concepts of testing (essential).
  • Test case management experience (essential).
  • Development skills - Java or JavaScript, CSS, HTML (basic).
  • Capable of technical deep-dives into code and architecture (basic).
  • Automation Framework - Selenium, Rest Assured, TDD, Cucumber (essential).
  • Mobile Automation - Appium (essential).
  • Performance Testing - JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad (essential).
  • Strong problem-solving skills (essential).
  • Project management and issue tracking tool experience: Atlassian Confluence, Atlassian JIRA, TestRail.
  • ISTQB intermediate qualification (desirable).
