Job Description

Incumbent will initially be responsible for:Project Leadership and Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive project strategy, including defining scope, setting milestones, and allocating resources. Lead the project through its lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectivesTechnical Partnerships: Identify, evaluate, and finalize agreements with technology licensors, Owners Engineer and EPC, required for a greenfield Green Methanol production unitFront-End Engineering: Work with selected EPC to ensure robust process design and technology selection to optimize production cost, efficiency and sustainabilitySafety and Environmental Compliance: Suggest comprehensive safety studies and best practices in process safety management to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and strive for minimal environmental impact in operations

Subsequent phases of the project will require the incumbent to:Pre-FEED Studies: Oversee pre-Front End Engineering Design (pre-FEED) studies to assess feasibility, risk, and initial project planning.Front-End Engineering: Manage the Front-End Loading stages, focusing on detailed project planning, design basis, and cost estimation.Detailed Engineering and Construction Oversight: Direct the detailed engineering phase, focusing on process engineering, plant design, and systems integration. Oversee procurement and construction activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.Operational Management and Quality Control: Lead the commissioning and start-up of the methanol production plant. Establish operational protocols and performance metrics. Ensure the production of high-quality green methanol, complying with industry standards and customer requirements.Budget Management and Reporting: Manage the project budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely reporting to stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.

The Successful Applicant

Advanced degree in Chemical/Process Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 25 years of experience in chemical processing, plant operations, or a related industry, with a focus on green or sustainable technologies. Prior experience in Methanol production and/or Hydrogen production and handling a plusDemonstrated experience in managing large-scale engineering projects, particularly in chemical process engineeringStrong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and external partnersIn-depth knowledge of chemical engineering principles, process design, and green methanol production technologiesExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skillsProficient in safety and environmental management within a chemical manufacturing context
