Greetings from TCSRole - MySQL DBARequired Technical Skill Set - MySQL Database AdministratorDesired Experience Range - 10-15 YearsLocation of Requirement - KolkataDesired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)Must-Have- 5-8 years of experience in MySQL Database Administration.- In-depth knowledge of MySQL versions 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4.- Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases to ensure their operational efficiency.- Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security.- Monitor database performance and proactively address potential issues or bottlenecks.- Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization.- Implement security measures in line with compliance standards and best practices.- Work with software developers to optimize queries and improve database design.- Solid understanding of Unix/Linux system administration related to MySQL.- Proficiency in writing complex shell scripting for automation.- Good communication skills with both technical and management teamsGood-to-Have- Expertise in all major versions of MySQL including Oracle and MariaDB.- Expertise of maintenance/patching mechanics.- Experience in database security auditing and compliance.- Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform tools for database deployment automation.- Hands on Linux and Windows system administration experience is a plus.- MySQL and Cloud certifications are preferred.- Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management procedures.Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role- The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting of MySQL databases across various versions (including MySQL 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4).- The candidate should have experience working in high-availability environments and demonstrate strong skills in automation, security, and compliance.- Perform periodic maintenance / patching as required- Monitor database performance and perform proactive tuning.- Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security.- Define and implement best practices and automation initiatives.- Lead database migration projects (on-prem to cloud / version upgrades).
