Role Summary :

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Storage Network Protocols team. This role focuses on designing and implementing core technologies that enable high availability and seamless upgrade mechanisms within distributed storage systems.

You will contribute to the architecture and development of our next-generation platform, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and optimized for cloud-based enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on requirements analysis, architecture design, and design reviews to evolve core platform capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain services that power NAS appliances, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Enhance High Availability (HA) and upgrade mechanisms for non-disruptive customer experiences.
  • Debug and resolve defects reported by QA, support teams, or found in development.
  • Translate ambiguous requirements into actionable engineering specifications in collaboration with product and technical partners.
  • Support and mentor other engineers, contributing to best practices and team knowledge.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in building and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems or cloud services.
  • Strong programming experience in C and C++ , with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • Experience with Linux clustering technologies such as Pacemaker , Corosync , etc.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design and SDK development for both cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, multi-threading, I/O subsystems, and Linux internals (XFS/EXT).
  • Knowledge of distributed systems architecture and cloud service fundamentals.
  • Experience working with virtualization platforms (e.g., ESX , Hyper-V , KVM , OpenStack ).
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical issues to a range of audiences.
  • Ability to lead implementation efforts, including proof-of-concepts and prototypes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience focused on systems design and architecture.
  • Experience creating and using RESTful APIs, particularly in cloud-native environments.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL as a core backend database.
  • Exposure to cloud storage integrations (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
  • Bonus: Contributions to open-source projects.
  • Additional programming experience in Golang , Java , or Perl .
