Head of Human Resources

The Head of Human Resources will oversee the HR function for the Indian subsidiary of a global company, ensuring the alignment of HR strategies with the business objectives. This role will encompass managing end-to-end HR operations, from talent acquisition and employee relations to compliance and performance management, across both the manufacturing and trading divisions. The HR Head will play a key role in shaping the organization’s culture, promoting employee engagement, and ensuring operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business plan and corporate strategy.- Advise leadership on workforce planning, organizational structure, and change management.- Lead initiatives to enhance organizational culture, employee engagement, and retention.
1. Talent Acquisition & Management:
- Oversee the recruitment and onboarding processes for all levels of employees in the manufacturing and trading sectors.- Implement talent development and succession planning strategies to ensure workforce growth and competency.- Design and execute training and development programs to enhance employee skills and productivity.
1. Performance Management:
- Develop and manage performance appraisal systems, ensuring consistent feedback, recognition, and goal setting.- Facilitate performance reviews, and work with department heads to align individual performance with business goals.
1. Employee Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and resolving disputes in a fair and consistent manner.- Build and maintain positive relationships with employees and foster an inclusive and collaborative workplace environment.- Manage disciplinary processes in compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.
1. Compliance & Labor Laws:
- Ensure that the subsidiary complies with all local labor laws, health and safety regulations, and employment standards.- Manage contracts, employee benefits, and compensation, keeping them compliant with industry standards and local regulations.- Act as a liaison with external legal advisors and government agencies for labor-related matters.
1. HR Operations:
- Oversee HR data management, and employee records.- Implement HR systems and tools for more efficient workflow and HR analytics.- Ensure smooth communication and implementation of company policies.
1. Compensation & Benefits:
- Design and manage competitive compensation structures and benefits packages that attract and retain talent.- Conduct salary benchmarking and compensation reviews in line with market standards.
1. Health, Safety & Wellness:
- Promote a culture of health and safety within the manufacturing and trading operations.- Implement wellness programs to support employees’ physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.- Experience: 15+ years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in manufacturing or trading industries that are of multinational type.- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Indian labor laws, compliance standards, and HR best practices.- Skills: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders to bring a cultural openness and instil the vision of the Company.- Competencies: Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects.- Personality: A strong and forceful character who can take tough decisions to implement actions for the betterment of the Company
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with a foreign subsidiary or multinational corporation.- Familiarity with HR software (DHRMS) and data analytics tools.

Reporting To: Managing Director (India) and dotted line reporting to Global HR Director.
Compensation: Competitive, based on industry standards and experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel between different company branches.- Proven Ability to manage a culturally diverse workforce.- Excellent spoken English language skills and one other local language.
