About Analytical Services

RMS Analytical Services bundles RMS’s Intellectual Property, Technology and Analytical Capabilities to provide actionable analytics and insights to our clients. We are a team of close to 400 professionals servicing nearly 100 global insurers, reinsurers and brokers in Natural Catastrophe Risk and Portfolio Analytics. Our analysts are experts in their domain, with a deep understanding of the market, client needs, and RMS models.


Position Summary


• Innovative Solutioning to solve complex technical problems and Independent Project Management will be key to the role.
• Lead client-facing risk analytics projects involving requirements scoping, design of reports, data preparation and modelling, and presentation of results.
• Ensure Best-in-Class Service delivery and excellence.
• Manage operations in a zero-surprise environment.
• Strong People management skills such as grooming (technical and soft-skills), regular 1-0-1s with documentation (as needed), no EWS defects.
• Develop team as well-rounded risk professionals.
• Display strong problem-solving skills, help groom, and build stronger technical and business understanding on the larger team.
• Must exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills and willing to work in a global environment.


Key Responsibilities and Deliverables


• Deliver excellent service to clients making best use of team’s risk analytical competencies.
• Exhibit in-depth knowledge of RMS models (model methodology, schema) including High-Definition Models, and Climate change.
• Hands-on end-to-end CAT modeller and can perform Account/Portfolio analysis, understanding exposure preparation and enrichment, should have knowledge and Hands-on experience of Slip Interpretation and Portfolio Rollup activities.
• Assess input data quality and highlight potential improvements to client along with impact of data fallacy/inadequacies.
• Provide high quality exposure and loss analytics, build relevant insights to enable swift business decisions at the client-end.
• Manage client escalations, minimize potential issues. Take Independent calls with client to discuss and resolve any critical issue in ongoing processes.
• Document all aspects of a project, particularly focusing on the rationale for decisions and exceptions. Own project compliance by ensuring processes, guidelines and SOPs is followed.
• Drive process improvements through technology which increase utility or efficiency of analysis. Knowledge and Hands-on experience of any programming language or Power BI is an added advantage.
• Coach senior resources on team to independently lead projects/processes. Mentor and train new /lateral hires both within team and outside immediate team.
• Highly collaborative with other Moody’s RMS teams including client development to ensure smooth client engagement.


Knowledge/Experience:

Successful candidate must possess an excellent technical knowledge and be highly client and solution focused.

Requirements for this position are as follows:


• Minimum experience of 7 years in P&C industry and minimum 1 year in RMS, respectively.
• Possess in-depth understanding of P&C Reinsurance and Insurance domains.
• Hands-on experience of multiple RMS products including the newer models (such as High Definition, Climate Change etc.). Hands-on experience of working on and leading on-demand projects is an added advantage.
• Strong database and data mining skills - good knowledge of Excel, Access, and SQL. Knowledge of R or Python is an added advantage.
• Be an excellent team player with high degree of self-motivation while being able to work independently.
• Multi-tasking skills with ability to skilfully manage multiple clients simultaneously.
• Effective English written and verbal communication skills
• Strong people managing skills and should be able to manage difficult conversation with team member smoothly.
