We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join the athenahealth Care Collaboration team. At the cutting edge of the healthcare market’s shift towards value-based care, the Care Collaboration sub-division works with an industry leading client base to deliver capabilities to enable patient-centric care, from Population Analytics to Care Management to Behavioral Health. You will provide technical leadership to a team of talented engineers who are transforming healthcare data into actionable insights that empower clinicians, researchers, and administrators to deliver better care.The TeamThe Insight & Measurement team is responsible for unlocking the value of athena’s value-based care (VBC) data and building athena’s next generation analytics suite for population health and VBC. I&M is focused on using scalable data technologies to build products and experiences that deliver insights and drive actions across multiple sets of users, including Care Managers, Analysts, and providers. The ideal candidate would be a motivated full-stack engineer excited to work closely with Design and Product counterparts to deliver new value-based care analytics experiences.If working in an emerging domain and collaborating with key VBC stakeholders across athena sounds like an exciting opportunity, we strongly encourage you to applyResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy high-quality code to production as a full stack developer in an Agile team of diverse engineers; Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.Develop knowledge to act as a domain expert; share business and technical insights with the broader engineering and product organizationImplement user-friendly, intuitive, and accessible analytics experiences using modern front-end toolingCollaborate inclusively with cross-functional team members to develop product solutions and promote productivity and effectivenessClearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersCollaborate effectively with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and business leaders to translate data needs into actionable solutionsTroubleshoot production and non-production issues and resolve.Take ownership of what you and the team build and coordinate your efforts across the teams to ensure proper completion.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experienceIdeally, 8+ years of software engineering experience with product development expertiseKnowledge of modern programming languages such as: C#, C++, Perl, Java, Python, and javascript/jQueryKnowledge of Unix/Linux, SQL, NOSQL, and various other technologiesProficient with the Javascript, Typescript and React frameworkAbility to write code that is technically sound, performant, scalable, and readableExperience with deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins along with git, bitbucket and other sourcecode repositories preferredExceptional communication skills and record of engineering achievement and accountabilityProven track record of implementing or adopting new technologies and methodologiesAbout athenahealthHere’s ourvision:
