As part of our product engineering team , you'll work on scalable systems that process millions of data points, support real-time decision-making, and power sophisticated CRM features. We're not just building software—we're creating tools that transform how businesses connect with their customers.
Your Role As a Mid-Level PHP/Laravel Developer - SaaS Platform , you'll be a core member of our engineering team, designing and building high-performance backend systems that drive eWards' CRM and loyalty solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features that directly impact thousands of businesses and their customers. This is an opportunity to own meaningful projects, work with modern technologies like ClickHouse and AWS SQS , and grow into a Tech Lead or Product Engineer role within 12–18 months.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop scalable backend services using PHP and Laravel to support eWards' core platform.
Design and implement RESTful APIs to enable seamless integrations with third-party systems and front-end applications.
Optimize MySQL and ClickHouse databases for high-performance analytics and reporting.
Build and manage background job queues using AWS SQS to handle large-scale data processing.
Collaborate with front-end developers , data engineers , and product managers to ship features rapidly and reliably.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code , participating in regular code reviews to ensure quality.
Contribute to architectural discussions and help design multi-tenant SaaS systems that scale efficiently.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in backend services and database queries .
Stay updated on industry best practices and propose innovative solutions to enhance our platform.
What You Bring We're looking for a passionate developer with a product mindset who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You should be excited about solving real-world business problems with scalable, efficient systems .
Required Skills :
2–4 years of hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel in production environments.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) , MVC architecture , and REST API principles .
Expertise in MySQL database design, querying, and query optimization for high-performance applications.
Proficiency with Git and team-based development workflows (e.g., pull requests, branching strategies).
Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and writing unit tests for backend services.
Ability to write clean, modular code and adhere to coding standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to debugging and optimization.
Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Have) :
Experience with Node.js or Python for backend tools or automation scripts.
Knowledge of ClickHouse or other analytics-focused databases for handling large datasets.
Familiarity with AWS SQS , Redis , or other queue/message systems for background processing.
Exposure to Vue.js or similar front-end frameworks for full-stack contributions.
Understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture and its challenges.
Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda) or other cloud platforms.
Contributions to open-source projects or a GitHub portfolio showcasing your work.
