Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of the CNC shop floor including 5-axis VMCs, HMCs & grinding machines, ensuring on-time and high-quality production.
  • Manage efficient workflow and production schedules to optimize machine utilization and minimize downtime.
  • Lead, coach, and supervise a team of CNC machinists, programmers, and operators.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards (ISO 9001), etc.
  • Monitor production KPIs and generate reports on productivity, efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and procurement teams to resolve production issues and streamline operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in line with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Manage tooling, fixtures, and raw material inventory required for machining operations.
  • Oversee machine maintenance schedules and ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of production staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory/management role in a CNC machine shop.
  • Strong expertise in 5-axis CNC machining processes, tooling, and CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360) preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of CNC programming and CNC machine operation.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with 5 Axis machining /aerospace industry is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • ISO 9001 quality systems knowledge.
