Overview & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This Position works under the direction of Shop Supervisor, Operates Machines in shop. When in need, can work as a “Technical representative” at customer sites also.

Operate all Conventional machines, CNC machines & Tool setter in the most efficient way, meeting the Quality & Delivery as per machining drawings & schedule.

Perform components Inspections using Measuring instruments, Concentricity checks etc.

Perform machining work as part of a team committed to safety, quality and cost effectiveness.

Operates, Overhead Cranes, Forklift, Pallet truck, Hydraulic Jack, Bench grinding.

Adhere to all the EHS procedures of the company and Statutory requirements, including use of relevant PPE’s, JHS’a and Elliott Group Safety policies.

Travel requirements are based on requirement.

BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE
- ITI Machinist with 5-7 years of working experience in CNC machining, CNC programming, Conventional machines like Lathe, Boring, Milling, Drilling & Grinding.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Computer literacy (Specifically MS office)
- Good communication skills verbal and written (including technical writing).
- Ability to analyze scopes, schedules, specifications, technical drawings, manuals and other documents
- Ready to work under Shifts

NATURE OF THE JOB

This Machine Operator Position effectively interact with Shop Engineer to implement a coordinated plan covering scheduling and machining activities.

Operate all Conventional machines, CNC machines, Tool setter in the most efficient way, meeting the Quality & Delivery requirements as per Specs & Schedule.

As part of cross-functional responsibilities, Operates Parts washing machine, Hydro Testing ,Supports Turbine Assembly & Test, Packaging, Packing ,Loading & Unloading etc, as assigned by Shop Supervisor.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

Operate all Conventional machines, CNC machines, Tool setter in the most efficient way, meeting the Quality & Delivery requirements as per Specs & Schedule.

As part of cross-functional responsibilities, Operates Component washing machine, Hydro Testing ,Supports Turbine Assembly & Test, Packaging, Packing ,Loading & Unloading etc, as assigned by Shop Supervisor.

Ensure that all work completed under their control is recorded accurately as per Procedures/ Standards.

Read Drawings, Process sheets, Work Instructions and carry out operations accordingly.

Adhere to Daily maintenance of machines and plan to hand over machines for Monthly / Annual preventive maintenance.

Daily up keep of Machines and ability to detect the performance variance of machines.

Use of KAIZEN to consistently improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, 5S, Cost etc.

Continual use of Statistical processes in the shop floor for improvements.

Provide training to fellow employees.

Conduct themselves in a manner befitting a professional organization.

Ensure that all Technical & Quality reports are completed promptly and reported to Supervisor.

Ensure that all company records are updated relating to work performed.

Follow company and office procedures in the execution of all works.

When needed, should work as a Technical representative at customer sites.

Take initiatives to adapt to unique situations in an industrial environment and execute proper work procedures and requirement per Elliott defined procedures and requirements.

Keep Shop Supervisor promptly and thoroughly informed on all work performed quality, performance and equipment problems and Customer’s reaction to equipment.

Initiates actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to the product, process, and the quality system.

Notifies supervisor upon the discovery of any problems relating to the product, process, or quality system. Verifies the implementation of solutions to problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.

Ensure that all work is completed in a safe manner and comply with all Local Rules & Regulations (inc. Safety, Environmental, Employment etc.) under direction of shop supervisor.

Ensure that all work completed under their control complies with Elliott best practices.
