About this profile at Lights Out:

We work with high-growth businesses in consumer-tech. That means each of these businesses have a lineage of existence, data to bank on and some lofty visions that the founding teams or investors come with. Our job is to use data from the past, conduct user interviews and also use secondary research to help them build a product roadmap that aligns with the future vision.

That means our UX Designers need to be business designers + UX strategists : understand business strategy and link them with a product roadmap. At Lights Out every problem we solve is design & experience led, so you’ll have a lot of influence and impact right away.

Product design and experience is at the heart of everything we do. As a Core UX Strategist, you’ll be working on product strategies for consumer products (e-commerce) as well as consumer tech (applications). They’ll be mobile and web interfaces of some of the most groundbreaking and innovative companies. You might be improving an existing product with an established market fit, designing something totally brand new, or rethinking how we at Lights Out do something at the core of our process.

You’ll be working with Lights Out’s core team of product designers along with some of our very talented friends around the globe. We do not shy away from collaborating or learning from the best in the Industry.

As the UX Designer you’ll set direction, take ownership, make calls, and see things through without a lot of oversight. You’ll be able to communicate clearly with your colleagues, work across teams, and lend a helping hand when needed.

You love to write, too. You understand that documentation of the process is as important. You will build upon case studies from your experience and publish them out to the world at regular intervals. We’re big believers of documenting the journey of design (which is far behind in India) and create awareness of our processes.

Here are some things we’ve put together to give you a sense of what you’ll be doing day-to-day :

◉ Understanding the product/business vision of the venture and mapping it back to how you’ll achieve the same through your product roadmap & flows.

◉ Pitching in solutions to approach a business problem through UX strategy

◉ Becoming an extended part of the Client’s team and planning the UX sprints (research → documentation → wireframes → testing)

◉ Working on 'growth' of user acquisition, improving customer retention & community building.

◉ Working on UX overhaul of digitally active brands and products (Direct to Consumer (e-commerce websites) or consumer-tech mobile applications)

◉ You’ll be involved in projects which require specialists in their respective fields right from Nutritionists, Athletes, Psychologists to Business designers

◉ In some cases you’ll have live working sessions with venture's internal design team

◉ You’ll be picking up your passion projects/assignments under Lights Out along with other team members on a monthly basis

◉ Working on improving Lights Out core design processes

Our location is Bangalore (where you're more than welcome to come down to the office), but this is a FULLY remote role.

Benefits & Compensation:

Lights Out has a more entrepreneurial mindset that we like to fuel into our team. The base salary for this position, depending on your experience would be anywhere between INR 12L to INR 18L per annum.

We work 5-day work weeks, prefer you don’t schedule too many calls in one day, help you with medical insurance and don’t really have the concept of designated number of leaves. If you want a break, you take a break. Just manage your work, let your coworkers know and there’s no record of such leaves.
