Tonbo Imaging seeks a Sr./Jr. Mechanical Design Engineer with comprehensive experience
in mechanical design, covering the full product lifecycle from initial concept and prototyping
to production transfer. This role is ideal for a proactive professional skilled in designing,
testing, and refining electro-optical devices and supporting product integrity in challenging
environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Design:
Design and develop electro-optical devices, including precision alignment
mechanisms and mounts for multi-sens`or imaging systems and optronic
components.
Create robust enclosures with hermetic sealing and high ingress protection to
withstand extreme environmental conditions.
Utilize a wide range of manufacturing processes and materials, including machining,
casting, metal injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication; familiarity with plastic
design is also essential.
Work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary experts to deliver
comprehensive product design solutions.
Produce engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
2. Testing and Validation:
Perform system-level testing, first article validation, and document/report findings.
3. Customer Interaction and Support:
Engage with users and customer support teams to address and resolve field issues,
provide product trials, and support evaluations.
4. End-to-End ownership:
Take responsibility for the full lifecycle of assemblies from prototyping to pilot builds.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve design and manufacturing issues.
Oversee the transition to production, including developing assembly jigs for
consistency and accuracy in production.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized Tier-1 or
Tier-2 institute in India.
Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in relevant mechanical design, with a track
record of successful design realization and validation.
Skills
Proficient in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
Familiarity with design analysis tools for simulating structural integrity and thermal
performance is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to precision.
Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
Hands-on experience with design assessment for dimensional tolerances, balance in
moving parts, and troubleshooting realized designs.
Adaptable to a dynamic, multi-tasking work environment.
