Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities :

- Within our technical mainframe architecture team you take responsibility for our central framework "EKS" in our mainframe application landscape.


This comprises :

- Further development and maintenance of that framework.

- Support projects and application development teams in designing and implementing systems based on this framework

- Support projects and development teams in testing and error analysis.

- Consulting projects in integrating mainframe services in distributed applications - mainly connecting web services or micro services on several platforms (be in on premises or in the cloud).

- Familiarize yourself in the design principles, techniques an methodologies of EKS from a user's (i.e. developer's) view as well as the internal view as EKS expert.

- Market observation and evaluation of new technologies and trends in the field of runtime architecture with a focus on the mainframe platform

- Creation, maintenance and updating of the architecture blueprint for the runtime architecture components including a roadmap for the further development of the runtime architecture

- Selection, development and implementation of tools and components for the runtime architecture with a focus on the mainframe platform

- Training/instruction of the SW developers with regard to these components

- Participation in major projects by integrating the standard components into applications

- Support, consulting and training of application developers (including programming guidelines for performance optimization) with a focus on mainframe projects

- Support of application development projects with technical application architecture

- Enforcement and monitoring of compliance with architecture standards (including project reviews)

Key Competencies & Skills required :

- Very good knowledge of application development under IMS transaction monitor

- Very good experience in COBOL, JCL,DB2, VSAM, CICS, IMS

- Very good knowledge of mainframe architecture (especially IMS)

Previous Experience & Qualifications :

- Education/Qualification: Specialized degree

- Knowledge & Experience: 2+ years of successful work in professional application development with a focus on the main-frame area
