Job Summary:
This role involves organizing and updating product information, ensuring accuracy across various platforms, and coordinating with other departments to gather and verify data. The Catalog Specialist plays a key role in optimizing product listings, enhancing searchability, and improving the overall user experience. Responsibilities include handling product descriptions, pricing, images, and inventory details, as well as working on catalog design and layout. The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work that demonstrates their passion for e-commerce sites such as Amazon seller & central, Walmart, Buybuy baby, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Catalog Management: Maintain the online product catalog by uploading, updating, and organizing product listings on the e-commerce platform. This includes adding new products, updating product descriptions, images, prices, and inventory levels.
- Content Optimization: Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to optimize product content, ensuring it is engaging, informative, and SEO-friendly. This involves writing compelling product descriptions and titles, selecting relevant images, and incorporating relevant keywords.
- Inventory Management: Monitor product stock levels, coordinate with the inventory team, and update product availability status on the website. Ensure accurate inventory information to avoid stockouts or overselling.
- Pricing and Promotions: Assist in implementing pricing strategies and promotional campaigns on the e-commerce platform. Monitor pricing competitiveness and recommend adjustments when necessary.
- Order Processing: Collaborate with the logistics and customer service teams to ensure smooth order processing, timely shipping, and accurate delivery. Address any issues related to order fulfillment promptly.
- Data Analysis: Analyze sales data, customer behavior, and website performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and growth. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive e-commerce success.
- Product Categorization and Navigation: Optimize product categorization and website navigation to enhance the user experience and make product discovery easier for customers.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure product information accuracy, resolve any discrepancies, and maintain consistent data across the e-commerce platform.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate product information, images, and specifications for new and existing products.
- E-commerce Platform Maintenance: Liaise with the IT and technical teams to report and troubleshoot any issues related to the e-commerce platform, ensuring a seamless online shopping experience.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in e-commerce operations, catalog management, or related roles.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and content management systems (CMS).
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and online merchandising techniques.
- Analytical mindset and proficiency in using data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
