We are seeking a highly skilled Data Lineage and Catalog Specialist to join our team at Thomson Reuters, in Bangalore.


This position will be responsible for managing and implementing data lineage, data quality and data catalog solutions to ensure transparency and accuracy in data flows across our organization.


The Data Lineage and Catalog Specialist will work closely with the Technology Teams and Data owners across the company to ensure data lineage and data catalog information is available in the tool and data quality results are reported.


This position will be responsible for:



  • Deployment of end-to-end data lineage, data quality and data catalog solutions.
  • Developing custom scanners using Alteryx Designer to address specific data lineage requirements.
  • Validating and verifying data lineage information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Identifying and resolving any discrepancies or inconsistencies in metadata and data lineage.
  • Establishing and managing scanner/connectors schedules to maintain data lineage integrity.
  • Maintaining and optimizing a data catalog to categorize, organize, and govern data assets effectively.
  • Ensuring the accessibility, usability, and relevance of data assets within the catalog.
  • Identifying, defining, and developing data quality rules.
  • Monitoring and analyzing data quality metrics to identify and address issues, anomalies, and discrepancies.
  • Maintaining data quality, catalog & lineage platform.
  • Maintaining documentation related to the catalog, lineage & data quality tools, including user guides, best practices, and standard operating procedures.
  • Generating reports and dashboards to provide insights into data usage, data quality, and catalog & lineage adoption metrics.

We are looking for a professional with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field and minimum 3 years of experience in data management, data governance, or related fields.


The ideal candidate will have proven experience in implementing and managing data lineage, catalog, or quality solutions in complex enterprise environments.


They should have a strong understanding of data management concepts, including data modeling, data integration, data catalog, and data quality.


The Data Lineage and Catalog Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Technology Teams and Data owners.
