
Lead DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Facilitating tech discussions with engineering teams
- Define, implement and maintain the hygiene of the production systems (both engineering and processes)
- Cloud Standards: Understand the cloud standards for the organization and ensure implementation of those standards in India & contribute to improving these standards.
- Architecture Design: Design and build robust cloud architectures, including infrastructure, platform, and application layers. Work closely with business leads and product owners to understand solution requirements and identify architectural patterns.
- Develop existing engineering talent for modern Cloud and DevSecOps practices/solutions.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Leverage IaC tools like Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- DevOps Practices: Promote and implement DevOps principles and practices to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce cloud costs while maintaining service levels.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms.
- Automation: Write and develop cloud automation playbooks for managing and scaling containers, hosts, cloud services, and applications
- Compliance: Monitor compliance of cloud resources to see if they fit industry guardrails and best practices
Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Azure cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, api management, and security.
- Expertise in cloud-managed services, deployment of microservices, correct usage of Function as a Service, Containers, self-managed databases like mysql/mongo, App Gateway.
- Familiarity with modern cloud application architectures and patterns
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- DevOps: Git-based workflows, CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing.
- Experience with setting up load balancers, cloud networks, and virtual servers
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Experience with Disaster Recovery Plans in cloud environment
- Strong understanding of Cloud-based application deployment architectures
- Excellent leadership, peer management and communication skills
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., CIS, NIST).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- A passion for emerging technologies and a continuous learning mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences
- Past experience with startups and fast paced environments is an added advantage
- Capable of working under tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Administrator)
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
